Fundraising Ideas

  1. Plan early:
    1. Send out brochures or news letters by mail or email to inform people of your fundraising event.
    1. Put up a display about the books where it can be seen easily. (Take off the book’s dust jacket, and turn it inside out. You will find a beautiful poster.)
    1. Contact your local media. Spread words among churches, big organizations, small groups, families and friends.
  1. Remember the people around you:
    1. Colleagues always look for a perfect gift for each other’s children. Grandparents love to buy books for their grandchildren.
    1. Show these books to other parents at children’s birthday parties. Or tell them to stock these books for birthday or Christmas gifts.
    1. Talk to parents’ committees, especially the ones in private schools, and get their help.
    1. Sale these books to schools. If school librarians have a chance to read these books from cover to cover, they will buy these books for sure.
    1. Present these books to doctors and dentists who need to buy books for their offices.
    1. Approach banks or other local businesses that want to support your organization and build their positive images at the same time.
    1. Organize or attend a Fall Fair, Christmas Sales, Arts and Crafts, or any event you can think of.

Important reminder: Children should never go door-to-door to sell products.
